Bruges has some fine old and quaint houses and streets…

And I realized I’ve never ever written a word about them! There’s one in particular I discovered a few months ago… As I was walking through a little street to get a sandwich for lunch, the beautiful grey facade of the house caught my eye. It’s just near a little bridge by the water. When I stopped and watched through the windows {yes, I’m curious, I know} I noticed it was a small bed & breakfast, named Number 11.

Brugge heeft fijne straatjes en oude huizen… En ik besefte laatst dat ik er eigenlijk nog nooit wat over had geschreven! Vooral over een huisje dat ik laatst toevallig ontdekte wanneer ik ‘s middags voorbij wandelde om een broodje te gaan halen. Ik zag de mooie grijze gevel, het brugje vlakbij het water en piepte eens snel door het raam {jaja, ik ben veel te nieuwsgierig}… toen ik merkte dat het een mooie Bed & Breakfast was, genaamd Number 11.

So if you were looking for a romantic {Valentine’s Day ?} weekend getaway or you just want to stay some nights in Bruges close to the water and close to the tourist spots, you should stay here. This is a gorgeous little secretive place I didn’t even know it existed! And I live and work here for almost 7 years!

Als je op zoek was naar een leuk, gezellig plekje om een romantisch weekendje weg te zijn met je vriend of vriendin {hint: Valentijn is er bijna}, dan zou je zeker hier moeten blijven! Dit is gewoon een geweldig geheim plaatsje waarvan ik zelfs niet wist dat het bestond! En dan te bedenken dat ik hier al bijna 7 jaar woon en werk hé…

This is the gorgeous suite and the stunning bathroom, and when you wake up in the morning, you can take a little stroll in their garden!

Dit is de mooie suite en badkamer, en als je hier wakker wordt, kan je gemakkelijk een frisse neus halen in de tuin.

Just pure bliss…

I would definitely sleep here for a few nights – if I wasn’t living here myself. The rooms are all so well decorated, very romantic and chic but still with a country touch. I fell in love the minute I passed by and the moment I visited their website.

Alle kamers zijn geweldig mooi ingericht, héél romantisch en chic met een landelijke touch. Ik was verliefd vanaf het moment ik daar voorbij wandelde en het moment ik hun website bezocht!

Just a little side note - Since my hubby works at the tourist office he has to deliver lots of brochures and other stuff to all the hotels, hostels and B&B’s in Bruges. So he can tell whether it’s nice or not. And he told me himself it’s really pretty and you’re always sure of a warm welcome by the owners.

Even ter info - Mijn man Bart komt regelmatig voor zijn werk bij alle hotels, jeugdverblijven en B&B’s hier in Brugge, want hij werkt bij de back office van de toeristische dienst. Dus kan hij meestal ook direct vertellen wat hij ervan vindt. Van deze B&B kan ik dus verzekeren dat ‘ie heel leuk is, met een fantastisch mooi interieur en dat je hier altijd warm wordt verwelkomt.

And last but not least… for all you movie lovers out there: this was one of the movie locations for the movie In Bruges, starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes. If you would love to know where they shot some scenes of “In Bruges” in their B&B, you should ask the owners!
