When I started blogging about 3 years ago I didn’t know a thing about what I was doing. When I just gave birth to our cutest baby boy, I was happy enough to just write down things I loved. At least I was writing down my thoughts and ideas. It was finally a step towards my childhood dream: to become a writer someday (with my great example Roald Dahl in mind)… Heck, I had never heard of terms “seo”, “the difference between WordPress or Blogger”, “tags” or even better: “finding your own voice” – all blogger terms you come across when you’re researching on how to make your blog and writing style better.
Then I heard of Holly Becker’s e-course Blogging Your Way which I took in March this year. I learned so much in that month, got a whole new vision on blogging and that a blog is not just “a blog”. It is so much more. I also understood how important it is to find your own voice. It’s definitely hard to blog – not that I don’t love blogging! You really have to put a lot of time and effort in blogging and what’s even more: you put yourself out there all the time. Because you try to write from the heart. It wasn’t something I did so very well before, but I’m making small steps in showing off a bit more of me here.
In this course we also had to work on creating a moodboard for our dream blog we’d love to have in the future. Thanks to a new friend I made during the course, Nancy from This Makes Me Happy, she offered me help and eventually we started talking about our blogs and how I would love to get a little makeover for mine. Fast forward to now: there’s a site redesign in the works by Nancy. Yaaaaay!!! Finally! I cannot wait until we can launch it, but all I can tell is that I am really happy and excited! The free theme I was working with for this blog, was not a unique template and I couldn’t tweak it to my own taste or style, so I was longing for a new, fresh design. And Nancy is the talented and thriving force behind the redesign of my blog. She is such a talented girl who really deserves a big applause for what’s she’s doing, which I’ll talk about soon here!
Nancy and my other BYW-friends I made in March are also together with me enregistered in a new exciting Blogging Your Way e-course, starting November 1st. I cannot wait to share my experiences with you on the blog! That being said… I’d love to hear your input on what you would love to see (or not) on my blog in the future. I made myself a promise I would blog more from the heart and share more personal stories here on the blog, but still have my focus on interior & inspiring homes. It will be sometimes hard to share my own stories, photos or projects and it may not all look or be perfect, but I think that is where the meaning of sharing your true voice lies. And thanks to all of you who always come back and read my blog I’m working on fulfilling my dreams. Thanks to you I can share my ideas or thoughts on things I love, because you keep reading my stories. Which is so great and I want to thank you for that! And I hope to be able to continue sharing cool things interior-wise but also put a little bit more of “me” in this blog. I don’t know what you think about it? Would you love to know more about me and what I do? What would you love to read here? Any cool ideas or post series you’d love to see more of?
In the meantime I’m slowly taking steps towards my goal to become a full-time writer someday… and working hard on fulfilling my dreams.
